The Compagnie des Messageries Aériennes (known as CMA; 1919-1923) was the first French civil aviation company, founded by Louis-Charles Bréguet in 1919.
This poster by Guy Arnoux is therefore a rare original specimen that has survived the test of time in excellent condition. CMA operated around thirty Blériot, Farman, and Bréguet aircraft. In 1921, the company absorbed Compagnie Générale Transaérienne. CMA itself would later be integrated into Air Union, a founding company of Air France. This museum-quality poster is printed using lithography and stamped with a fiscal mark indicating it was displayed, often in a train station. The printer Money is mentioned at the bottom right of the document. "Inquiries Tel: Passy 24.74".
