Original Exhibition Poster – Miró, Musée National d’Art Moderne – Circa 1960
Published around 1960 for an exhibition at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, this original poster pays tribute to the exuberant universe of Joan Miró, a major figure in European modern art. Printed by the Maeght studio, a historic partner of the artist, it reflects the close dialogue between artistic creation and lithographic excellence.
Set against a white background, the biomorphic shapes, bold areas of primary color (red, green, blue, black), and spontaneous gestures typical of Miró form a composition that is both free and rhythmic. The black line, nervous and structural, appears to trace both an imaginary creature and a secret script. The artist’s handwritten signature, placed centrally, becomes an integral part of the visual composition.
Printed in lithography at a format of 23.8 x 17.7 inches, linen-backed and in A+ condition.
