This original poster, created by Roger Broders in the 1930s and printed in lithography by Bedos et Compagnie in Paris, depicts a view of Villers-sur-Mer in Normandy.
Roger Broders successfully captured the atmosphere of this Norman seaside resort by portraying, in the foreground, a smiling blonde woman wearing a bright orange dress and holding a bouquet of colorful flowers. Behind her unfolds a panoramic view of the hills, the town, the lively blond-sand beach filled with strolling visitors, and the sea dotted with a few sailing boats.
The artist’s distinctive style is evident in his use of vivid, contrasting colors (the dress, the lawn, the hills, the sea, and the sky) and graphic forms to depict an appealing coastal landscape.
The poster, in excellent condition, is linen-backed and measures 39.37 by 24.41 inches.
