This promotional poster for the city of Nice was designed and signed both in the plate and on the poster by Marc Chagall in 1962. Rendered in vivid shades of blue, it depicts the Bay of Nice with the silhouette of a red-haired mermaid holding a bouquet of multicolored flowers. Chagall’s unmistakable style is clearly recognizable in this poster, printed in lithography by Mourlot in Paris.

Linen-backed and in very good condition, the poster measures 24.4 by 39.2 inches.
